new new : last update 12.13.07

12.13.07 I've been invited to teach a course at wheaton college next semester! a 200-level class on design and creativity. very much looking forward to it.

08.07.07 some fun freelance work on a unique project named, holy yours. this project includes a logo design, html email design and web site design for the teen-based demographic initiative. take a look.

08.02.07 i'm designing a search results redesign for cchgroup.com. here's a preview. also, although the project has been halted, there was some significant redesign performed for the completetax.com site. preview this proposed design.

07.18.07 cchgroup.com is getting a revised shopping cart design. the rework has been an on-going project for quite some time and has finally been given the green light, in terms of design. i'm working with some talented folks in usability and coding development to make this redesign a valuable effort. take a look.

07.11.07 over the weekend, i picked up a couple of great books. i should list the authors and titles to give credit where due. i'll be sure to get to that later. any-who, the subject matter is on css and flash cs-3. i feel as if i'm finally launching into the 21st century. hey, who says you can't teach an older dog new tricks? by the way, in dog years, i'm still young. only 238!

07.05.07 pretty much done with the initial redesign. i was focused on categorizing items properly and decided to add photography under the portfolio section, rather than on its own. makes sense, right? special thanks to my wife for this obvious suggestion. marriage certainly has its benefits. she keeps me grounded and level-headed.

07.01.07 still at it, making additional updates to the site. the job of a designer is never ending.

06.15.07 a designer’s professional faux pa is to not keep their online portfolio updated. I’ve been encouraging this of many fellow designers for far too many years. Lo and behold, I wasn’'t even practicing what I so fervently preached. After much embarrassment and out-of-practice excuses, I’ve finally gotten my act together. It’s been 4 or more years, but who’s counting?

“We spend so much time getting through day to day activities that we forget about who we are as individuals. What are your likes, dislikes, wants, desires, and passions? What is holding you back from your true potential? Who are you, really? What is your purpose in life as it relates to the life of others? Start peeling away the infinite layers of ‘gunk’ that have built up over time. The choice is up to you...”
